The Student Advisor also oversees the development of the student’s person centered plan and is responsible for coordinating annual progress reports and maintaining communication with other departments.

    Advisors Assist the Student in:
  • Setting short and long-term goals
  • Banking
  • Coordination of person centered plan and program plan
  • Developing of self-advocacy skills
  • Coordinating schedules
  • Setting appointments
  • Dealing with day-to-day issues
  • Communication on important issues with students and families

Money Management / Budgeting

Managing one’s money is one of the building blocks to an independent life. The Banking Program at the College Internship Program is centered on teaching practical money skills for students who will be living on their own. CIP helps students to be responsible for their own expenses, to understand the principle of budgeting, and to be accountable for the payment of monthly bills.
